Can we talk about how last summer Yeezus basically predicted all of this Ferguson racism? New Slaves, Blood On The Leaves, Black Skinhead.
And then we have M.I.A who has been 10 years ahead of herself with everything, predicting the military-like police state, making music about an out of control government. And they BOTH got labeled as crazy/conspiracy-theorists, when really they were just ahead of their time.
this shit has been happening for years kanye didn’t predict shit smh trash ass post
Exactly. Like I don’t think anyone’s trying to be mean or “throw shade” at feelingsandwhatnot when they say that this post isn’t true at all but this post isn’t true at all.. Like it’s not a personal attack to say that this post makes no sense. Kanye’s “New Slaves” doesn’t “predict” what happened in Ferguson at all in any way like I’m not joking… it’s not even about that type or manifestation of racism. Neither is Blood on the Leaves which is about women being gold digging bitches.. and nothing Kanye has said has “predicted” any instances of racism involving police brutality since they have always happened and happen regardless of what Kanye (didn’t ever say in this instance) says in a song
i feel slightly attractive this morning

This is Patricia Yurena, the now first openly gay national beauty queen
*watches Jon Stewart’s comments on Ferguson* hey look it’s a white man getting heaps of credit and adulation for saying the exact same shit that black people have been saying for weeks now. how unexpected.
WHITE SAVIOR! WHITE SAVIOR! bow down……*side eye*
I have mixed feelings about commentary like this because yes I agree that it’s problematic for white people to receive more credit and praise for things black people have been saying for years. But I also think it is necessary to have white figures with primarily white audiences to critique whiteness and white supremacy. Because whenever white people ask what they can do to help, I say, educate your people.
plus he reaches millions whereas twitter/tumblr people reach only a few thousand
this is true and i don’t think Jon has ever tried to claim that what he is sayin are his own ideas unlike Tim Wise
But that’s exactly what the OP is saying..
